✽ What We Offer
How we can help
Drop In
Drop-in support offers essential assistance, enhancing knowledge, life skills, and confidence to manage everyday challenges. This includes guidance on welfare benefits, consumer issues, debt, housing, and employment, providing comprehensive support for those in need.
We address various issues by focusing on their root causes. Our services build individuals' capabilities, improve quality of life, reduce social isolation, boost self-worth, and promote well-being, all while fostering hope for a better future.
Guidance Hub
PMF is the first point of contact for community issues, offering practical support such as form filling for government and local authority benefits, liaising with agencies to resolve queries, handling appeals and reviews, assisting with medical and work capacity assessments, and providing financial advice.
Our holistic approach also includes support for social housing, referrals for debt, domestic violence, homelessness, and immigration cases, while sensitively addressing the needs of clients with special requirements.
Employment Support
We accept referrals from Job Centre Plus and offer a range of services including CV creation, job search assistance, support with completing job application forms, employability workshops, sessions to enhance awareness of the work environment, interview preparation techniques, and training opportunities.
Our services include:
- Job Search Assistance
- CV Preparation
- Interview Preparation Techniques
- Volunteering and Work Experience Opportunities
- Training Programs
- One-on-One Support
Community Learning
These initiatives are continuously evolving based on the needs that are often recognized through feedback from our clients. Currently, we provide classes in ESOL, Confidence Building, Volunteering, Arts and Crafts, Health and Wellbeing, and IT.
Welfare Benefits
We provide support for cases involving Job Seekers, Employment Support Allowance, Personal Independence Payments, Housing and Council Tax benefits, Carer’s Allowance, and more.
Our services encompass new claims, appeals, tribunal representation, payment suspensions, and other related matters. Our team consists of dedicated professionals with extensive experience in managing these claims.
Advocacy
We champion the needs of clients who face difficulties in accessing services and work to persuade mainstream service providers on key issues or to modify their services to better accommodate particular client groups. PMF also engages in local service planning for the benefit of the community.
Health & Wellbeing
We offer a variety of social, leisure, and recreational activities aimed at combating loneliness and enhancing both physical and mental well-being. These activities include light exercise, arts and crafts, coffee mornings, and various trips and outings.
Our luncheon club meets twice a week for seniors, with separate sessions for men and women, serving as both a social gathering and a nutritional event.
Additionally, we host recreational and health-related activities, including educational workshops and awareness sessions, which are followed by a lunchtime meal. This setting allows elderly individuals from BME communities to connect with their peers, participate in gentle exercise, and engage in health awareness discussions, all culminating in a shared meal.
